When you use HatchingEggs.store we may collect:

Account information — your name, email address, and password when you register.

Profile information — farm name, location (state/county), NPIP certification number, bio, and profile photo if you create a seller profile.

Listing content — photos, descriptions, and pricing information you upload.

Transaction data — order details, amounts, and shipping information related to purchases made on the Platform. Payment card details are processed directly by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.

Communications — messages exchanged between buyers and sellers through our in-app messaging system, and support ticket content.

Usage data — pages visited, search queries, clicks, and browser/device information collected automatically to improve the Platform.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Operate and improve the HatchingEggs.store marketplace.
Process transactions and facilitate payouts to sellers via Stripe Connect.
Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, support replies).
Provide customer support and resolve disputes.
Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations.
Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your personal information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects.

3. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in these limited circumstances:

With other users — your public seller profile (farm name, location, bio, listings) is visible to buyers. Your contact information is never shared without your consent.

With Stripe — payment processing and seller payouts are handled by Stripe. By using the Platform you agree to Stripe's Privacy Policy at stripe.com/privacy.

With service providers — we use third-party services for hosting, email delivery, and analytics. These providers are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than providing services to us.

For legal reasons — we may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of the Platform or its users.

4. Cookies & Tracking

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and to maintain session state. We may also use analytics cookies to understand how the Platform is used and improve the user experience.

You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but doing so may prevent some features from working correctly.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g., transaction records required by tax law).

6. Security

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure credential storage, and access controls. However, no system is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential.

7. Children's Privacy

HatchingEggs.store is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your state of residence you may have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Request correction of inaccurate data.
Request deletion of your data.
Opt out of marketing emails (unsubscribe link included in all marketing messages).
